Why I'm standing

Taupō's exciting potential and growth deserves focused effort to ensure all groups prosper and are heard. I will bring decision-making that reflects values as well as meets the law, critical analysis of issues and full scrutiny around capital expenditure and external consultants. I will champion the best sustainable solution for challenges, not just the easiest or the 'same old'. I am standing to serve this community, and I have the work ethic to deliver.

About me

Being a champion for those needing support and promoting ethical leadership to those in positions of power and authority characterise my career. My governance background and professional expertise span sectors that are immediately relevant to the Taupō community. From senior roles within engineering and construction to forestry and wood processing and health and conservation. I work tirelessly and build trusting relationships based on the commitment I have to deliver on the responsibilities of my work.

My priorities
  1. Meet and greet across Taupō town to better appreciate the challenges and concerns.
  2. Provide a forum for Taupō District Council employees who fear retaliation should they speak up regarding concerns/wrong doing.
  3. Assess consequences/report on Taupō District Council inaction/bias across roading, reserve management and dog parks.
