The Waihoro Spreydon-Cashmere-Heathcote Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Christchurch City Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of nine members: six members elected by voters, including two members from your area, and three councillors from the Christchurch City council. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.   • Ensure essential community facilities are maintained, remain open and accessible. This will require community support to prevent excess cost.

    Reduce social isolation and build communities by supporting and promoting diverse community events and festivals.

    Identify local recreational resources and decide with community how to get the best out of them. Work to enable these actions.

  • Create, support and promote outdoor and indoor recreational opportunities that are accessible to all residents.

    Promote and pursue partnerships with adjoining councils and business to develop versatile and joint recreational facilities, eg stadium.

    Encourage supportive legislation to local communities in assisting decision-making about granting liquor licenses.

  • Complete the Christchurch Coastal Pathway: as treasurer of the coastal pathway group I secured government funding and will see it completed.

    Celebrate diversity in our city's peoples by supporting cultural community groups and meeting needs, eg the women's only time at Linwood pool.

    Ensure the city has excellent recreational facilities for both team sports and individual recreation such as biking, walking and family fun.

    Support arts initiatives that enables access for residents and visitors to experience high quality Ōtautahi arts.
