The Waitai Coastal-Burwood-Linwood Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Christchurch City Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of nine members: six members elected by voters, including two members from your area, and three councillors from the Christchurch City council. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.     Ensure that all groups know about community board funding and are fairly represented in funding allocation.

  • Avocate against any reduction in service levels of libraries, pools, parks, etc., or any loss of community assets.

    Support free swimming lessons for under-17s at public pools with free entry to under-17s at public pools.

    Oppose any new off-license bottle stores in decile seven to 10 (deprivation index) areas.

  • Community events Like festivals: Funding to different communities should be fair not one sided.
