Why I'm standing

Living in the west is a rare privilege, and we need to ensure we are not engulfed by regional policies and practices that do not work to the upliftment of the area and its people. Local input is of optimal importance to move policies forward, to halt policies or to change them.

About me

I moved to Auckland 16 years ago and have proudly called the west my home for that time. I have been a teacher and lecturer during that time as well as producing artwork for sale and tutoring in the arts. There is huge blessing in walking our beaches in safety and producing artworks that reflect the environment and the culture. I believe that locals know best, and their voices should be heard.

My priorities
  1. Ensure broad, exhaustive input by locals, before any council decisions are enacted.
  2. Find pathways where local expert voices can be heard especially regarding affordable housing.
  3. Find pathways where families affected by the pandemic can be given advice and support.
