As the son of a long term licensing trustee, I am aware of of the problems that our residents and retailers face.
Assist in any events/festivals, anything that promotes getting people together.
Facilitate more community events this summer to increase tourism to the area.
Increase funding to public facilities to support initiatives, to encourage local use and tourist visits including reduced fees for locals.
Create a tri-annual Waitomo Arts and Crafts event to support local artistans and alternatively situate them in Mokau, Piopio and Waitomo.

Preserve, maintain and enhance libraries, pools, sports, recreational and cultural facilities – they are vital to community wellbeing.
Preserve parks and reserves. Green space is vital and should be preserved for community and urban biodiversity wellbeing.
