Why I'm standing

In my ward, I am the only city councillor that has consistently chosen action on climate change, housing and empowerment for mana whenua relationships. I am most proud of my mahi in the natural environment, advocacy for people in housing need and supporting local residents. I'm standing because I want to make a difference to the lives of vulnerable people struggling right now and there is a lot more mahi we need to do.

About me

I grew up here, I'm a coach of local sport, a union member and a renter in the local area. Locally, during Covid-19 lockdowns I worked alongside social workers, council tenants, our elderly, and most vulnerable to help them access vaccines and kai. Currently, I'm completing a qualification as a Resource Management Act commissioner. We need leaders who consider the impact they have on others, and plan for future generations, not just for their current individual circumstances.

My priorities
  1. Build more social and affordable housing with mana whenua and community provider partnerships.
  2. Enable our suburbs to thrive by supporting local businesses and artists.
  3. Progress climate justice to ensure we have a city all can call home.
