Why I'm standing

Council's terrible management of housing is resulting in million-dollar debts for young couples and people sleeping on the streets. Significant improvement is possible. Rymans is building 500 apartments in Wellington coincidentally with a similar reduction in social accommodation. Council should work with developers, iwi, and social housing providers. This was the motivating issue behind my running. Council errors are having terrible consequences. It doesn't have to be this way. I could make a difference.

About me

I've extensive experience in business, infrastructure, and community activities. Chair of Wellington Airport, the Arts Trust, which produces CubaDupa and other festivals, Wellington Hockey. 2021 Wellingtonian of the Year: Business for contributions to business, community and Wellington. I bring experience in managing and directing large and small enterprises and meeting stakeholder aspirations, be those stakeholders customers, community interests, regulators, employees, or capital providers. I've a proven record as a team player.

My priorities
  1. Housing. Fundamental to the city's viability where council actions really matter.
  2. Transport. Mobility matters and is deteriorating. Better bus services offer an affordable solution.
  3. Community engagement. Council must serve its communities. Better, meaningful, consultation.
