Why I'm standing

I was motivated by the lack of action over implementation of the Westport flood protection scheme and the lack of what I perceive to be financial nous sitting around the decision making table. I believe my business experience, governance background, financial and analytical skills will enhance the quality of council's decision making processes. I'm a straight shooter who will listen to and act on ratepayer concerns.

About me

I was born in Denniston and have a long standing commitment to the Buller and West Coast regions. I'm a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, practiced on my own account in Westport for over 40 years and employed up to 23 staff. My governance experience extends over 35 years and includes director/trustee positions on Westland Milk, DWC, Buller Electricity. Pulse Energy, O'Conor Home, Buller Holdings and numerous other entities.

My priorities
  1. Implement the Westport flood protection scheme.
  2. Improve the quality and reliability of our land transport systems.
  3. Ratepayer transparency. Treat ratepayers honestly and respectfully. Be accountable.
