Mayor of Hamilton

The mayor is the leader of the council. Their job is to promote a vision for the city and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Hamilton City Council mayoral election.

Why I'm standing

I am running because I want Hamilton to be affordable and I don't like the direction it is heading. We need common sense leadership that puts residents first.

About me

I bring over 10 years experience and strong knowledge of everyday living costs and a commitment for fairness. I deal with real people and real budgets.

My priorities
  1. Introduce on-time payment rebates for rates and amend rates for 2026 to ease pressure on people.
  2. Invest in maintaining roads, parks and essential services in a practical and sustainable way.
  3. Support community wellbeing by keeping libraries, events and youth programmes strong and accessible.
