Mayor of Hamilton
The mayor is the leader of the council. Their job is to promote a vision for the city and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. About me
I bring proven leadership as chair of the city's growth committee, have served as a West Ward councillor for six years, and was formerly a lawyer. I'm approachable, I work hard, listen and collaborate. I'm focused on finding solutions, and have a track record of working with others to turn ideas into action.
My priorities
- Protect valuable community services like libraries, parks, pools and City Safe patrols.
- Expand shared services with other councils and deliver services in house to save money.
- Ensure water infrastructure is fit for the future and supports the housing needed.
