Mayor of Hamilton
The mayor is the leader of the council. Their job is to promote a vision for the city and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing
All the people of Kirikiriroa Hamilton deserve representation that is not politically motivated. Fair and just representation that listens to and cares for our people and the environment, grounded in honesty, integrity, compassion and hard work. Representation that is diverse, inclusive and socially and economically conscious.
About me
I was born and bred in Kirikiriroa. Along with our mother, my six siblings and I are all graduates of the University of Waikato. Between my husband and I we have eleven children and two mokopuna. Intergenerational transformation through education is a mantra we subscribe to. I am committed to my whānau, hapū, iwi and our city.
My priorities
- He wai - water. Water is life and powers everything that is needed to live.
- He kai - food security and food sovereignty.
- He āhuru mōwai - a safe and affordable place to live.
