Mayor of Hamilton

The mayor is the leader of the council. Their job is to promote a vision for the city and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Hamilton City Council mayoral election.

Why I'm standing

I am perturbed at the repetitive rhetoric emanating from fiscal conservatives especially. I am a centre-left candidate running with the intention of restoring respectability to progressivism, which has been hijacked by a hyper-liberal elite. I wish to run as mayor to showcase Hamilton as a world-class city, not through brochures but through its achievements. I believe presently Hamilton is direction-less. Lawyers, businessmen and environmentalists have all tried and failed. Now it is time to elect a scientist.

About me

I am part of a new generational wave of late baby-boomer politicians, caught between modern and post-modern paradigms. I am a member of the Co-operative New Zealand Party which has sought monetary reform since formation in 1953. I am the secretary of the Hamilton Residents and Ratepayers Association Incorporated, a position I will hold until May 2026. Hamilton is already served by two National Party electorate MPs. I believe it does not need a National Party mayor.

My priorities
  1. Take back control of council from disruptive elements and free it from the woke mind virus.
  2. Support the transgender community but ensure this does not come at the cost of betraying trad wives.
  3. Explore municipal tariffs and create a by-election endowment fund to enhance representation.
