Why I'm standing

When I discovered that our rates and debt were skyrocketing at the same time while services were at best stagnant, I got angry. Angry at the mismanagement of the city that I have called home for most of my life and believe to be the best place in the country. I felt that I had to do something about it, and complaining about being fleeced every three months just was not cutting it.

About me

I began my political "career" with a small elected role with the National party, which grew into several much larger elected roles, one of which I still hold (I am the long term deputy chair of the Hamilton West electorate). I ran my own business for 13 years. I have worked for the Gallagher Group for the last 17 years in an engineering role. I speak truth to power, and am a professional problem solver.

My priorities
  1. Find out where our money is going as council brings in millions per year.
  2. Find spending that can be reduced without affecting services or outcomes and eliminate it.
  3. Stop annoying people out of their cars as, if people want to drive, they should be allowed to drive.
