Why I'm standing

Hamilton is my home, but the current council has forgotten who we are, consultation ceased, and decisions have been made out of haste and without long-term thought. There is a lack of transparency about costs and continual budget blowouts by millions of dollars on projects. A councillor must be accountable to themselves and the residents and ratepayers as that is their mandate.

About me

I lived here for 40 years, working from being a qualified mechanic to a manager of local and national roles. Worked for and with charities and on the streets and in rehab as a volunteer. I am involved in sports commentary and radio plus I mentor apprentices in the industry. My philosophy is you have to give as much as you receive. I am a JP, a volunteer board member and a person who loves Hamilton.

My priorities
  1. Become part of a vibrant council team that puts the city first and works on priorities and outcomes.
  2. Get a full understanding of how a council operates and ensure being informed and empowered.
  3. Set up a regular community contact session and maintain it as a voice of the community.
