Why I'm standing

To be the best choice for your voice. I am passionate about our community but, like many, worry about the debt being accrued by our council. As a keen advocate for fiscal responsibility and controlled growth, I want to be more involved in the decision making. I not only want the region to prosper but also help support the community to realise its best potential.

About me

I am a long-term resident of Hurunui, involved in various local initiatives. I can provide the new skill set council will require to address changes imposed by central government. As a successful consultant, I appreciate the benefits of joint initiatives and shared services, and the need for financial prudence, co-operation, consultation, and advocacy. I believe I can provide the new approach required to address these challenges and opportunities and support the community going forward.

My priorities
  1. Monitor investment to ensure it provides excellent value for the district and is financially prudent.
  2. Explore sharing services to leverage improved cost efficiencies.
  3. Work to be a strong advocate and voice for Hurunui when dealing with external agencies.
