Why I'm standing

I'm running because I believe our community deserves a stronger voice at the council table. Too often decisions feel distant from the people they affect. I want to listen, represent our community's views with honesty and ensure residents are genuinely involved in shaping our district's future. Standing as an independent, I'm motivated by a simple principle: council must always remember who it works for and whose money it is spending.

About me

I will make a good councillor because I bring independence, integrity and a commitment to representing the community rather than outside interests. My business and leadership background means I can assess issues objectively, think strategically and focus on practical solutions. Living locally in Balcairn with my wife Lorna, I'm connected to the district's everyday realities. I believe in open communication, transparency and listening — qualities our community needs at the council table.

My priorities
  1. Work with communities so rates fund what truly matters, with clear transparency.
  2. Ensure strong oversight of the Water Services CCO.
  3. Focus spending on core services and cut wasteful costs.
