Kāpiti Coast District At Large
The Kāpiti Coast District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of ten councillors and the mayor. This election is for the elected by all voters in the district. The other councillors will be elected to represent wards (areas in the district). This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper.     Work with community groups such as Work Ready Kapiti and Kapiti Youth Support to assist with youth employment and development opportunities.

  • End the proposed outsourcing of economic development which could cost $10 million over 10 years.

    Make Kāpiti more business-friendly than it currently is and review how to communicate to and support businesses to thrive.

    Support an economic development strategy that has definable goals and achievable KPIs.

  • Promote Otaki as the water sports capital of New Zealand by ensuring the new Winstone Lakes management plan allows a range of activities.

    Support and enable tourism by supporting the industry to provide unique and quality Kapiti visitor experiences with significant potential.
