The Kāpiti Coast District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of ten councillors and the mayor. This election is for the elected by all voters in the district. The other councillors will be elected to represent wards (areas in the district). This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper.   • Continue the great job the council does in providing top-quality sports grounds, libraries and pools while ensuring others are self-funded with grants.

    Grow and use Otaraua Reserve as it was originally intended, as a riverside park with established trees, walks and places to enjoy.

    Lead and bring the country's biggest organic river festival annually to Otaraua Park to attract visitors from around the world.

  • Build the Waikanae Library as quickly as possible.

    Continue to grow events such as the Kāpiti Arts Trail and leverage in-house marketing to support local events.
