The Waitai Coastal-Burwood-Linwood Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Christchurch City Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of nine members: six members elected by voters, including Two members from your area, and three members from the Christchurch City council. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.     Ensure Christchurch's world-class water safety by prioritising upgrades to the vulnerable post-earthquake distribution network.

  • Improve water quality in rivers, estuaries and beaches by reducing pollution and upgrading stormwater systems.

    Protect and restore local biodiversity through native planting, habitat creation and effective pest control.

    Reduce waste going to landfill by expanding recycling options, supporting community composting and promoting reuse initiatives.

  • Continue planting in the red zone to create a lasting and meaningful wildlife habitat.

    Continue to support the CCC efforts to remove chlorine from our drinking water.

    Continue to support the urban forest plan to increase the tree canopy in the eastern suburbs.

  • Continue to be committed to the ongoing upgrade of the waste management systems.
