The Waitai Coastal-Burwood-Linwood Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Christchurch City Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of nine members: six members elected by voters, including Two members from your area, and three members from the Christchurch City council. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.   • Continue to build communities by getting neighbours talking and looking out for one another, identifying homelessness and having an action plan.

    Look into putting houses back onto the red zone TC3 land and determine how it can be achieved and by what date for growth in the ward.

  • Commit to Christchurch City Council prioritising community activity spaces in planning to enhance social engagement and local well-being.

    Ensure that housing planning and intensification policies acknowledge the views of the established community.

  • Support the CCC vision that all people in Christchurch have access to housing that is secure, safe, affordable, warm and dry.

  • Develop mixed-tenure housing that combines public, affordable and private homes, supported by services to ensure thriving communities.

    Ensure high-density neighbourhoods have access to green spaces, recreational areas and safe, accessible public transport.

    Support a programme designed to address the increase of homelessness by working together with central government for better housing policies.
