The Waitai Coastal-Burwood-Linwood Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Christchurch City Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of nine members: six members elected by voters, including Two members from your area, and three members from the Christchurch City council. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.     Improve engagement with genuine community input on all local developments to ensure they fit neighbourhoods.

    Provide strong local feedback on planning rules to protect residents from unaffordable rate hikes.

  • Mitigate the negative impacts of densification by ensuring access to greenspace, recreation and multiple transport options for every household.

    Support investment in social housing through the Ōtautahi Community Housing Trust, including mixed-tenure developments with social support.

    Support the development of a council work programme to combat houselessness and advocate to central government for better housing policy.
