The Waitai Coastal-Burwood-Linwood Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Christchurch City Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of nine members: six members elected by voters, including Two members from your area, and three members from the Christchurch City council. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.     Stop any sale, partial sale or lease of the council’s strategic assets.

  • Continue to support full public ownership and control of the port, airport, Orion, City Care and Enable as a vital part of our economy.

    Continue to support the council being a Living Wage employer and extend that to all employees of all council-owned companies and others.

    Support urban regeneration and development around Eastgate, including better use of the Smiths Street depot and investigation of an alcohol ban.
