Why I'm standing

Being on the local board is the best opportunity I've had to make a difference and get things done on the things I care about – the environment, climate change, giving effect to teTiriti, future generations, diversity and social justice. I want to make the most of my earlier work and volunteering experience and of what I've learnt in my first term; and to collaborate more across different boards and support new board members.

About me

I'm confident I can use my legal skills, determination and prior leadership experience in complex organisations to build on what I've achieved in my first term. I've helped push progress on climate action, fairness and inclusion, raising awareness on funding allocations, and amplifying the voice of our youth board. Critically, I've established positive relationships with staff and other elected members to achieve shared objectives, and I've lived, worked and volunteered here for 35 years.

My priorities
  1. Include Māori in decisions and mana whenua as kaitiaki, honour te Tiriti – better outcomes for all.
  2. Climate action and environmental restoration – for a future that's green and healthy.
  3. More housing for everyone, planning for a compact urban form incorporating trees and outdoor spaces.
