Why I'm standing

I was drawn to Oamaru and the Waitaki district by the strong sense of community and the value I saw. I want to uphold and develop that through a position on the council. The younger generations are key to continuing the culture and by standing I hope my perspective encourages others to take a more active role.

About me

I am a young entrepreneur. I direct a cluster of businesses focused on educational services and primary product value chains. This has given me a strong sense of responsibility for the tasks I undertake. I am passionate about individual autonomy and strengthening community level governance. I believe there is a need for a pivot towards localisation and creating a resilient strong economy as we move out of the covid era.

My priorities
  1. Retain and attract the younger generations to the district.
  2. Create a resilient local economy, that fits within the modern globalised world.
  3. Develop a sustainable innovative economy using the natural assets of the district.
