Why I'm standing

Our region has natural beauty and brilliant people, but there are challenges – climate change, resilience, housing and economic well-being. I want to see both our environment and people prosper. As a councillor, I've worked hard to improve walking, cycling and public transport infrastructure. Now, I want to champion the bus network – it's much improved but could still be better. I'll also champion Wellington City in the region and look for value with our regional rates.

About me

I'm known as a responsive, hard-working councillor with integrity. I've had a high degree of responsibility in my time on council, serving as deputy mayor 2019-2022 and chairing several major council committees. I work collaboratively to get things done. My experience on the city council means I'm ideally placed to understand the issues facing both regional and city councils and to bring them together.

My priorities
  1. Ensure 85% of Wellingtonians have good access to a high-frequency seven-day bus service with affordable fares.
  2. Deliver better value for rates by streamlining projects and leveraging community and Government contributions.
  3. Bring the city and regional council together and champion Wellington City's place in the region.
