Why I'm standing

I love Wellington and I am running because I really care about our communities and environment. I think our region is going to face some incredibly tough challenges in the coming years as the impacts of climate change and other pressures increase. Based on my experience in environmental management, science and advocacy, I think I can play a helpful role as a community leader in the face of those challenges.

About me

I really care about the future and sustainability of the Wellington region and its communities. I have a deep understanding of the things the regional council manages including through my studies of environmental science and ecology, and through my experience as an advocate on environmental issues for Forest & Bird and Choose Clean Water. I have a lot of integrity, I believe in social justice (I was a union delegate!), and I care about people.

My priorities
  1. Prioritise the use of nature-based solutions such as making room for rivers to manage flood risks.
  2. Improve bus and train services to make it easier and cheaper for people to move around Wellington.
  3. Prioritise the health of freshwater and communities in all decision making on freshwater.
