Wānaka-Upper Clutha Community Board

The Wānaka-Upper Clutha Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Queenstown-Lakes District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of four members. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.     Support further empowerment of the board to ensure that the Upper Clutha community receives its fair share of funding for our priorities.

    Support transparent decision making through well publicised open meetings and workshops with clear explanations for public excluded sections.

  • Engage on the ground in community halls rather than reliance on social media click bait, bringing young and old round tables for kōrero.

    Educate in schools around the importance of the youth voice, understanding policies, where they come from and why, including elderly.

    Provide opportunity for celebration of where you came from, valuing all ethnicities enjoying kai together, sharing stories and creating spaces.
