  • Expand the Repair Cafe concept to provide a space where items can be donated, upcycled and/or reused with tools available to assist this.

Continue work with iwi and other representatives to improve the quality of Lake Horowhenua.

Promote areas of wildflowers and bushes, particularly native, to support bees and other insects and birds.

  • Monitor and expand the existing plant and plan larger, future, plant.

Aim to expand native bush habitats to encourage native species.

Expand the existing recycling to minimise general waste and increase charge for general waste.

  • Continued support for restoration projects that will see Lake Horowhenua and its surrounding land returned to full health over time.

Increased community education around waste minimisation while also making it easier to recycle and safely dispose of materials.

  • Support the closure of the landfill, and a management plan to mitigate further impacts to the stream and environment.

Support the need for water reforms, but centralisation is a risk, I support the government taking a pause and review.

I support waste minimisation and want our council to stand by its policies. Our waste minimisation strategies are dismal to non existent.
