Why I'm standing

My children have inspired me to take the risk for what I believe is important. The issues facing us are too urgent just to think about them. It's time to stand up in public for the Green principles of ecological wisdom and social justice, and take meaningful action on them.

About me

I bring skills and experience in working constructively with a wide variety of people and in reaching agreement that leads to action. This comes from twenty years in the Playcentre movement, in my role as an early childhood teacher, and as chair of community housing provider Abbeyfield Dunedin. In my Playcentre roles I visited Playcentres right across Otago which gave me a good knowledge of the communities throughout the region.

My priorities
  1. Establish trust between councillors, staff, and communities to restore faith in the Council.
  2. Restore the health of our waterways as this connects so many things.
  3. Protect our most vulnerable people in the face of climate change.
