Otago Regional Council

Dunedin Constituency
The Otago Regional Council makes decisions about managing resources in the region, such as air, water, soil and the coastline. It also carries out plant and pest control, helps prepare for natural disasters, and is involved in regional transport. The council is made up of 11 councillors. Councillors are elected to represent constituencies (areas in the region). Six councillors will be elected from the Dunedin constituency. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. About me

I initiated Labour's inquiry into supermarket prices and its dental assistance for people on low incomes. I have run a successful business and been a community chair and organiser. After a long career in print and broadcast journalism, I was Executive Director of the New Zealand Journalists Training Organisation.

My priorities
  1. Cleaning up Otago's rivers.
  2. Improving air pollution monitoring.
  3. Creating a constructive and harmonious council.
