Why I'm standing

Someone once said "you had better take an interest in politics or otherwise politics will take an interest in you". I am concerned with increasing bureaucracy both at a local and central government level. I believe the least bureaucracy as possible is best. In the last couple of years many people have become very concerned as is evident with the unprecedented multiple protests. I wish to understand the issues to help heal the rift.

About me

I am semi retired, so as such I have the luxury of committing to the role in a full time fashion. I will be able to meet more people more often to allow me to understand concerns fully. My background as a professional firefighter and as an electrician with high voltage distribution expertise should offer a no nonsense pragmatic skill set that enhances council as a whole.

My priorities
  1. Ensure that climate change policies are practical and affordable for council, the poor and business.
  2. Lobby for the retention of the Dunedin "one-way" roading network.
  3. Engage with disenfranchised groups such as Groundswell and anti-mandate groups.
