Why I'm standing

I am primarily standing to bring improvement to our public transport system. After a lifetime in business, I ventured into bus driving with NZBus. During my two years there, I did most jobs available for the company. I also saw many areas needing improving. The first one being staff treatment and retention. An overseas investment company has no interest in its staff or the people of the Bay of Plenty.

About me

I have a wide variety of experience in many industries. I have been involved in many sporting clubs at an influential level. I have been involved as a union member and and as an employer. I care for my fellow person and wish to make things better for them. I do not like injustice. I believe in fair pay for a good days work.

My priorities
  1. Bring back council control to the Bay Hopper bus service. Overseas investment companies do not care.
  2. Design rapid bus transport routes with parking areas at various spots around the city, ie Tauriko.
  3. Pay proper living wages to attract and keep good staff. Offer humane working conditions.
