Why I'm standing

I've watched for years as the home I live in has continued to represent the loudest most fortunate members while the marginalised, less vocal members continue to feel like their opinions and needs matter less and less. Our rangatahi (youth) and voiceless need our tautoko as the future is theirs and it's what we create for them that serves them best. Aroha and manaakitanga will foster new life for our home.

About me

I work in community activation and ecological restoration. I see everyday what our actions have on the world around us. From the resources we take, to the resources we give back. Acknowledging that what we have here is what was left for us plays a huge part in why I think we need to undo the harm. I believe I understand but also am willing to listen to what people's needs are instead of assuming.

My priorities
  1. Increase community consultation and participation in decision making.
  2. Repair/forge relationships with mana whenua/iwi. There's a lot of harm done here that needs fixing.
  3. Get tree protection back. We've lost countless mature native trees. The things they've seen...
