Greater Wellington Regional Council

Pōneke/Wellington Constituency
The Greater Wellington Regional Council makes decisions about managing resources in the region, such as air, water, soil and the coastline. It also carries out plant and pest control, helps prepare for natural disasters, and is involved in regional transport. The council is made up of 13 councillors. Councillors are elected to represent constituencies (areas in the region). Five councillors will be elected from the Pōneke/Wellington constituency. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing

I am a proud and committed Wellingtonian. I want Wellington city and the Wellington region to be the best that it can be. I am chair of the Greater Wellington Regional Council – an experienced councillor with strong background in problem solving. I have a track record of bringing people together, keeping projects on track, and delivering for Wellington. I have a background in resource management and public policy.

I am the current Chair of the Greater Wellington Regional Council – an experienced councillor with strong background in problem solving. I am experienced in working with communities, with other councillors, and many organisations to weave together projects and solutions for Wellington and the region. I fight for the city and region – making sure we get the resources and support required to support our development.

My priorities
  1. I am committed to reliable, safe and cheap public transport. Wellingtonians deserve reliable public transport.
  2. I am committed to getting our big infrastructure projects under way. Access for Wellington.
  3. 100% EV public transport. We have embarked on the EV public transport journey. Let's finish at 100%.
