Why I'm standing

For 15 years my job has been to tell farmers and growers to take responsibility for improving their environment by stepping up to represent their local communities on their councils. It's time for me to walk my talk. I know what councils do, I understand the pressure, I can encourage change. My key areas of interest are climate change adaption support for urban residents, reaching predator free goals and running great public transport services.

About me

I'm not a 'career councillor'. I'm just planning to hit the ground running at the decision-making table and ask hard questions for my fellow Wellingtonians. I've been on boards, worked in high profile organisations and run my own small businesses. I started out as a journalist and for the last 15 years I've worked in primary sector advocacy. My job has always been to understand the impact of a decision, the Greater Wellington Regional Council needs councillors who can.

My priorities
  1. Pushing for solutions to climate change adaptation for urban residents.
  2. Lifting our regional public transport service to an effective system which people want to use.
  3. Help volunteer programmes bring the birds back, protect our trees and eliminate pest plants.
