Why I'm standing

I want Wellington to be a flourishing, safe, resilient, climate-friendly place that takes care of nature and people. Te Whanganui-a-Tara welcomed my whānau after they left Burma. Growing up here, my elders instilled the value and importance of serving our community; and it was the least we could do as tauiwi to support the aspirations of tangata whenua. I have always been politically active and motivated by issues of social justice and climate action.

About me

From producing and presenting music stories on the radio, to governance roles since my late teens, I have gained a deep understanding of strategic planning, regulatory compliance, financial management, and the importance of working together. I have worked on numerous Wellington City Council committees, Victoria University boards and advisory panels. I have also worked in the non-profit sector and in our local film, media and tech industry.

My priorities
  1. Return public transport to public ownership to serve us, our drivers and planet, not private profit.
  2. Restore and protect our coastal areas, native forests and waterways. They are vital to our survival.
  3. Fund and empower mana whenua and community groups to continue their mahi across ecological projects..
