Why I'm standing

I believe sustainable growth is imperative. I believe we as a city, region, and country need to think beyond the here and now, and plan for all generations. We need to embed the principles of kaitiakitanga/guardianship in the way we manage and treat our resources; in particular our whenua/land, and our wai/water. We need a mindset change; away from treating our resources as simple commodities. We don't plan to fail, we fail to plan!

About me

I am an urban planner and certified RMA commissioner with over 25 years experience. I know the mechanics of government and know how to get things done. I have extensive governance experience in the public and private sectors. I served as a Wellington City Council for two terms and currently a first-term councillor on the Greater Wellington Regional Council. I have a track record of achievements and want to complete a second and final term.

My priorities
  1. I am the Dep Chair of Transport, so many public transport initiatives have been introduced, I want to see them through.
  2. I spent four years on the whaitua committee (water). I want to make sure the recommendations are implemented.
  3. Let's Get Wellington Moving and focus on bus priority and bus lanes. $7.4 billion light rail option is not the answer.
