Why I'm standing
Sleep is a basic need; lack of sleep harms people; reduces economic productivity. I brought post-2020 Alert Level 4 security matters, eg noise, thefts, bullethole, aggravated robberies – to our MP on behalf of my body corporate and neighbourhood store last year, and was unsatisfied. I know that the two instances of suicide in the city centre that I know of won't be the last, but I will make sure our wellbeing is not neglected solely from being unheard.
About me
I'm from Palmy, been here for 10 years in a CBD apartment. The transient city centre population is a challenge. I will man it like any club committee or software project, with succession planning always in mind, and be a kaitiaki of the role and identities I represent. I've served time in community organisations – body corporate, Mensa, university clubs and sport. I believe meeting basic needs would reduce the matters keeping people up at night.
My priorities
- Facilitate better coordination of council and body corporates and police regarding noise control, security footage.
- Reserve proportionate amount of basic needs eg community spaces, security, in high-density areas.
- Prioritising long-term maintenance plans and capital investment, in public transport and services.
