Waitematā Local Board

The Waitematā Local Board is one of 21 local boards in Auckland. The local board makes a plan for your area and decides on local issues, activities and facilities. It also oversees council services and facilities in your area, including libraries and parks. The local board is made up of seven members. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing

I am dedicated to doing all I can to serve our communities in Waitematā and pushing for progressive, equitable, transformational change. I believe in the power of teamwork to achieve a better future for all – one where we protect our planet, and native biodiversity, our parks and public spaces are inclusive and accessible, we put people over profit, we honour Te Tiriti, everyone has a safe, warm, affordable home, public transport is free and reliable.

About me

I will strive to represent the diverse needs of our communities in Waitematā – putting the needs of the most vulnerable first to achieve the best outcomes for all. As a young, disabled, rainbow person, I bring valuable experience, and I am dedicated to advocating for better accessibility in local government. I have excellent organisational and communication skills and am genuinely interested in the mahi, particularly in connecting with and learning from community members.

My priorities
  1. Work to make parks and public facilities inclusive and accessible for all – focus on most marginalised.
  2. Partner with mana whenua to develop restoration plans for natural environments.
  3. Commit to expanding Urban Ngāhere Action Plan and support community-led native planting initiatives.
