Why I'm standing

With 24 years elected experience I am standing once again to ask for your support to continue working to support our communities, especially providing access to libraries. They are free and welcoming spaces for everyone, social support centres to research and keep informed about how we grow, change and evolve. In Avondale we are welcoming increased housing and as a long term Avondale resident I will to continue to advocate for quality community facilities.

About me

I am a current Whau local board member, and former chairperson, a long serving Portage Licensing Trustee, former deputy chairperson Avondale Community board and long term Avondale resident. Over 24 years local elected experience involving keeping in touch with communities and representing their views to our local board. I attended the Avondale College and feel that the Whau and its people are my home town. My background is in libraries and social research.

My priorities
  1. Retain current library opening hours providing safe, welcoming spaces for our Whau residents.
  2. Advocate for the completion of the new multi-purpose (library) community centre and Whau pool.
  3. Increase tree canopy and planting including the reforestation of the Te Rangimarie/Rosebank Domain.
