Why I'm standing
Climate change is the biggest threat facing our current, and future generations. I believe I can be part of the effort to act in a way to make a better city for all to continue to enjoy. We need people who can influence and enact the necessary policy to do this, and I have a proven track record in making and delivering on climate, environment, and development related issues.
About me
If elected this will be my third term in a local board service. I bring experience in this, and from both the private and public sectors, having worked in housing, conservation and in sustainable transport advocacy. I came to the role of elected member, not through politics, but through community activism. This is something I'm proud of, I live locally and have self-built my own home with the intention of staying local, long term.
My priorities
- Establish a masterplan for Whau (or the suburbs of) to manage increasing density equitably.
- Increasing tree canopy cover and open spaces, eg delivering on the Urban Ngahere strategy.
- Advocate on getting the Southdown Line west-south public transport connection back on the table.
