Mayor of Auckland

The Auckland Mayor leads the governing body of Auckland Council. The mayor’s job is to promote a vision for Auckland and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Auckland Council mayoral election.

Why I'm standing

I believe Auckland needs a mayor and a council that will represent and unify the ratepayers of Auckland City, rather than divisive political agendas pushed on them from an out of touch, ideologically driven, central regime.

About me

I have had a very broad life experience and can relate to a wide section of the community. The key thing in real leadership is understanding that all people have greatness in them. When you include people, they will respond.

My priorities
  1. Let people know they are special and have a part to play in building a generational and healthy city.
  2. Give people an opportunity to participate in building a better city so they feel appreciated valued.
  3. Reinforce that tried and true maxim – united we stand, divided we fall. As a city, we are one family.
