Mayor of Auckland

The Auckland Mayor leads the governing body of Auckland Council. The mayor’s job is to promote a vision for Auckland and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Auckland Council mayoral election.

Why I'm standing

As a classical homoeopath a top priority or mine is 'to first remove the cause', and since 80% of chronic illness is said to have an environmental cause, I find it alarming that our rates are used to poison us with fluoride, glyphosate, 1080 and other unnecessary toxic and polluting substances and practices. I want to put a STOP to fixing people up from this abuse by eradicating as many as possible from Auckland.

About me

I have been co-ordinator for Friends of Sherwood since June 1990, that began with a 'People's Assembly' which decided we wanted a neighbourhood as free as possible of toxic chemicals, waste, and other pollution, after discovering that the council didn't know how to maintain the local children's playground without using poisons. We showed them how Integrated organic management could compete with the cost of Roundup and do a better job for the whole of EastCoastBays.

My priorities
  1. Restore democracy and heal the wounds of discrimination in a community divided by medical mandates.
  2. Lift the toxic burden off the community, and respect body sovereignty, for our health and wellbeing
  3. Protect the birthright of future generations and create a vibrant healthy city we can all be proud of
