Why I'm standing
I am seeking a third term. I am a chartered accountant with extensive financial management and governance experience. I chair the council's Finance and Performance Committee and sit on the Assurance and Risk Committee. I have had over 30 years experience as a chief financial officer in central government and have provided financial services to many not-for-profit organisations, especially in Upper Hutt where I have lived since 1975.
About me
I am a team player who is not afraid to debate issues but will agree with a decision once it is made by council. My professional experience and knowledge as a chartered accountant have proven to be of value during my two terms as an Upper Hutt City councillor.
My priorities
- Ensure that rates are kept to a minimum.
- Complete a master transport plan for Upper Hutt and implement it.
- Council's services are provided in a cost-effective way, to a standard and timeliness expected.
