Why I'm standing

I want a secure future in Whanganui for my friends and family. This means we keep our assets, improve employment opportunities, education opportunities and health and well-being services. We need to fix what we already have before embarking on grand schemes. We are a great place and I want to keep it that way.

About me

I am a pragmatic and practical person who would rather do things right the first time. My family have been in Whanganui since at least the 1850s and this is our home. I am a former journalist but also a scrap metal recycler. I can cut things up, weld them back together and write about doing it.

My priorities
  1. No to Three Waters. Central government needs to go back to the drawing board and rethink.
  2. Improve our recycling system and minimise rubbish. We need efficiency from our services.
  3. Support manufacturing and industry in Whanganui. We want good jobs here.
