Why I'm standing

I have lived in Whanganui for most of my life and with my husband raised our children here. With ageing parents and young grandchildren living here I know very well how important it is to have a vibrant, safe community with good employment, great facilities and neighbourhoods – somewhere we belong.

About me

I am a chartered accountant having served six years on Whanganui District Council and previously on the DHB for eleven years, seven as chair. I have run a successful accounting advisory business for over 20 years and worked in many governance roles. I understand how to develop strategy, implement plans and get results. My proven record as councillor and board member plus having an accounting business, gives me the skills to strengthen council.

My priorities
  1. Solving the housing crisis must be a top priority and now is the time to be bold.
  2. Stay on track with the climate change action plan, the work council is doing will grow momentum.
  3. Lobbying government strongly over proposed changes will position Whanganui to maximum advantage.
