Why I'm standing
The next three years will be the most challenging for local democracy with Labour's Three Waters reforms and its current review of local government. I want to ensure we can argue for the best outcome for our ratepayers. I want to continue my efforts to make Whanganui grow and provide a great place to live.
About me
I've already had nine years on council and am very effective at making the changes we need to thrive. I volunteer a lot of my time to building Whanganui's heritage reputation and I lobby central government for more supportive funding for our initiatives.
My priorities
- Make the most of the Port and Sarjeant redevelopment projects – these are huge investments.
- Attract a hotel to Whanganui. We need those beds if we are going to expand events and attractions.
- Keep improving the town centre so its vibrant and continues to attract more retailers and cafes etc.
