Why I'm standing

"If you can change Castlecliff you can change Whanganui" was a dismissive comment from someone I've taken as a dual goals. Working with community and other leaders both these goals have progressed pleasingly well. Even an organisation with the unlimited power and resources of council (irony) cannot make fundamental grassroots change happen! What we can do is listen to and enable our communities building pride in saying "I'm from Whanganui".

About me

Professional member of NZ Institute of Directors. Trusted voice on council. Thinks outside the box, strategically and long term. Proven experience driving positive change and rejuvenation. Personal experience of discrimination makes me empathetic and a voice of diversity. 30 years high level business consulting experience including unique experience of many other councils and local government reform. Active member/supporter of groups as diverse as Surf Lifesaving, Waka Ama, Saint Lukes Anglican, Progress Castlecliff, Pride Whanganui.

My priorities
  1. Vision for future for local government as unlike Three Waters and RMA reforms, Future for Local Government has positive potential.
  2. The coming success of Aramoho-City-Castlecliff bus route lead improvement across public transport.
  3. Seeing councillors take up a learning environment, building skills and making business-like decisions.
