Hutt City Council

Hutt City At Large
The Hutt City Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 12 councillors and the mayor. This election is for the six councillors elected by all voters in the city. The other councillors will be elected to represent wards (areas in the city). This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Hutt City Council election.

Why I'm standing

Over the last six years I've worked hard to bring the voices of our city to the council table. I have a background in community development, youth work and governance. Supporting communities to thrive has always been my passion. We have achieved a lot as a council in the past three years, and I have more to contribute to the direction of our city. To continue our success, I'm seeking re-election as your city councillor.

About me

I am a strong advocate who does what is right for our city. In the last three years I have risen to the challenges and opportunities of leadership within the council. I enjoy connecting with our communities in Lower Hutt. I will continue being accessible to all residents across our city. I know what is needed to make a difference, and I will continue to strive to make progressive change for our people.

My priorities
  1. Implement our council Carbon Reduction and Climate Resilience Plan to ensure our city can thrive.
  2. Improve community engagement and consultation to ensure wider participation in council decisions.
  3. Invest your rates wisely to get the basics right and harness opportunities for our city.
