Hutt City Council

Hutt City At Large
The Hutt City Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 12 councillors and the mayor. This election is for the six councillors elected by all voters in the city. The other councillors will be elected to represent wards (areas in the city). This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Hutt City Council election.

Why I'm standing

I want Lower Hutt to have a clear identity and vision for the future. As a health professional I want our city to enhance, promote and facilitate healthy lifestyles. This includes financial health.

About me

I have been a Physiotherapist working in Lower Hutt for many years. It is a privilege to work directly with the people of this community. I've been a youth mentor and a community volunteer in Australia. I understand the importance of governance and collaboration.

My priorities
  1. Adopting a health lens is vital for climate goals, mental/physical health goals and financial goals.
  2. Consult with our communities and ensure community boards are supported to engage in their locality.
  3. Advocate for continued affordable public transport options and support healthy transport options.
